Sharing the moonlight 2007

Following the Cultural Compass mid autumn tradition, moon cakes were distributed as part of the Sharing the moonlight program.

The Shaung Lin fund raising moon cakes were distributed to elderly residents through volunteer/social organizations. Cultural Compass's 2007 partner is Rotary Club Civil District.

Rotary Club Civil District members visited the St. Theresa's Home and Villa Francis Home for the Aged to distribute the moon cakes. They also toured the two places to understand the respective organizations and met some of the residents.

The moon cakes were paid for from visitor's voluntary tour contributions.

This event allows Cultural Compass to support the restoration fund raising efforts of the Shuang Lin Monastery and to share the special event of Mid Autumn with residents of homes.

Many thanks to visitors who contributed at the end of the tour. It transforms the economic value of the tour into social capital to make a difference.
