Spectre over Shuang Lin

潔諮褒爽 岻 寮隈乗縛
In the 1930s, overseas Chinese in South East Asia participated actively in
support of China during the Sino Japanese War. The Abbot of Shuang Lin monastery
supported these efforts and had allowed Burma road volunteers to train on
monastery grounds.
During the Japanese Occupation, the Venerable was arrested by the Japanese and
executed during the Sook Ching.

Imperial Tutor and the
Shuang Lin Monastery

The Shuang Lin Monastery has a couplet composed specially for the monastery by
Mr. Chen Bao Shen who was the Imperial Tutor to Puyi, the last Emperor of China.
